- Formatting a diskette
when you format  a disk , you divide the disk into areas called tracks & sectors .
-Scandisk
 checks your disk for any errors or faults
-Defragmentation 
rearranges the files and free space on your disk so that files are opened more quickly because they are
stored in adjacent units & free space in consolidated.
To start  Defrag :
Click start
Point to Programs
Point to accessories
Point to system tools
Click disk defragmenter
~ Choose the drive you want to apply disk defragmenter 
We also learned how to to create a zipped compressed folder , many of us all ready knew how
&  we also learned about the viruses we get by browsing something from the internet or from an e-mail etc ..
we also learned a couple of antivirus we can use for better protection of ouur pc 

they are ; Mcafee , Antivirus & norton antivirus

The computer system : Some short information about what we learned in class are  >

- Data + structure = Information 

-Input > Process > Output + storage

A computer is a device that accepts input , processes data,stores data & produces output.

Input is the process of entering data into the computer.

there are loads of different computers such as , super computers,mainframe computers etc .. 

we talked about hardware and software too ,

hardware are those things of a computer that you can touch (physical)

software is an other word of programs 

An example of an operating system is windows vista/windows 7

Ps. A floppy disk is hardware but a program which is stored on it is software.

+ We had a lesson about the CPU (central processing unit ) & MM (main memory)

& a bus is a set of parallel wires connecting two or more compon ents (uints) of a computer

That's pretty much covers all the basics we talked about in this chapter :)
